So we are so close to our goal, but we are getting a little discouraged. We live in a small town that most everyone has already donated, plus being that the country is in a difficult time financially not many companies are donating. Does anyone have any ideas for hopefully finishing up the fundraising? I have really enjoyed meeting so many people during this experience, but now people are starting to get upset hearing from me. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Help Please!!!

Thanks

Robin: do you have a blog or website about your fundraising? If so, will you let me know the URL?

Judy!
I do have a website: It is www.4paws4curtis.com. I have tried everything I can to get it out there to be seen and get hits on it but no luck yet. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

My biggest piece of advice is to just keep plodding along. You WILL get there when the time is right. All this means right now is that Curtis' dog isn't ready for training, or who knows his dog might not even be at 4 Paws right now! I know I've told the story before, but I'll tell it again:

I would get so frustrated and discouraged whenever I saw families who had been approved after ours finish fundraising and get their dogs way before we did. Finally in December of 2007, after almost a year of fundraising, we got the letter from Karen (which I still have by the way...). We were placed in the September 2008 class. Oh, but that seemed so far away. So we waited, and waited, and waited...

When the time came we got a letter from Tristen's dog, Ajax. I couldn't believe it! Ajax was originally placed with Matthew Plunk, and had only arrived back at 4 Paws about 3 weeks before our class was scheduled to begin. We arrived at class and I was introduced to the most amazing dog I have ever known. He's not just Tristen's best friend, he's mine as well. And I can't imagine life without him.

But, you see, had we met our fundraising goal any earlier, had we been placed in an earlier class, we would not have Ajax. He would not have been there for us to receive, and Tristen would have gotten a different dog (previous to Ajax's return they were training a GoldenDoodle for Tristen). Rest assured, God has a plan. He knows exactly which dog Curtis is supposed to get. He knows the miracle you seek, you just have to turn it over to Him and accept that His timing is best.

Keep your chin up Robin. Before you know it you'll be telling your story to other families, giving them hope. Take care.
